Veronica O’ Hehir Intersection Human Immersion

This series is about that beautiful space where land mass appears to meet the sky.
The intricate marks, dots and flickering gestural strokes. Natures mark making and layering.

Dry grass and trees intersecting with the horizon, escarpments and land mass with layers of colour and marks, observed during my walks . Intuitively painted in an abstracted, expressionist manner, upon reflection.

A loaded impetuous brush stroke sweeps across and divides the canvas, the painting begins. I am the facilitator of this visual language that is truly innate.

Sitting somewhere between the abstract and reality in my expression, I use an intuitive palette. There is a conscious editing and layering process in every brush.

Painting is the closest I have come in life to understand existence, on a level outside of society’s constraints, conditioning order and what the naked eye sees … my work is an individual response to life and being.
