Qdos Studios were established in 1972 on the current Qdos site in Allenvale Road.
A strong feature of the Qdos Studio is the spatial practice exploration of clay and other medium in a sculptural context.
The studio features a 9 metre long wood firing ANAGAMA kiln. The kiln is fired twice a year and is a 8 day event.
This process develops a bed of fly ash on the work in the kiln before the final temperature of 1350c is reached.
A task force of up to twelve people is required to conduct a firing, students gathered from the ceramics related institutes around Australia and ceramic artists interested in wood firing also join in.
Qdos studio offers a unique opportunity for students of ceramics and wood firing to work alongside Graeme Wilkie making 'one off' pieces.
Students interested are encouraged to inquire about our full time residency program. Visit
